Help Me 90S GIF by Offline Granny!

This is a bit of a complicated story but one that is driving me mad!

I tested positive on 17 November. My last period started on 13 October. I stupidly didn’t do any OPK but had egg white discharge on 28 October although my Apple Watch thinks I actually ovulated on 2 November according to my BBT. Had sex on 27 and 29 October (soz, TMI 😂).

I have endo which was causing me lots of pains so went to the EPU at 5 weeks. There was nothing visible on the scans despite HCG doubling every few days.

At first it was thought I had an ectopic so went for a lap. They couldn’t find it when they went in so I was kept in for obs.

scans last week found a ‘doughnut like shape’ which they then couldn’t find a few days later.

An MRI on 29 November showed up a gestational sac and a scan on 1 December (when I would have been 7W) also showed the gestational sac now with a yolk sac too. I was told that it was clear that it was a miscarriage and booked in for a D&C today.

I was about to go down for the D&C when the consultant said they couldn’t do it as the ‘new’ yolk sac indicated that there could be a viable pregnancy (although didn’t seem convinced). I have to have another scan at the end of the week to verify this.

i haven’t had any bleeding apart from some light brown spotting.

Has anyone else been in the situation?! I’m beyond confused and would find it really helpful to hear about other people’s experiences, especially any positive stories where there has ended up being a viable pregnancy?! Although I’m pretty sure that this will end up being the miscarriage we thought it was.

Freaking out because I took Misoprostol this morning and had stopped taking pregnancy vitamins when we thought it was all over!

A lot happened to you. It's pretty rare but of course, there is no way of knowing if this will be a viable pregnancy (it started off a bit unusually). There is usually a noticeable heart rate by 7 weeks but, it could be the case that you did, in-fact ovulate on Nov 2nd which would make everything add up to a potentially viable pregnancy except for the positive pregnancy test so early on Nov 17. Was that a blood test or a urine test?

Can't take the misoprostol back at this point so watching and waiting of course, reminding yourself that you were doing what you thought was right for your body at the time. I have also seen misoprostol not work for abortion.

I'm not sure how much this helps but if we are talking about possibility, this may work out to be a viable pregnancy. Just have to wait and see. The best thing that you can do for yourself is get prepared to accept the reality, what ever that turns out to be.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply - it’s been horrible.

It sounds like it’s probably a formality before doing the procedure and we’re trying to focus on that being the case but it’s hard not to think about the tiny possibility 😫
