What’s the chances of a miscarriage after seeing a heartbeat in earth scan?

title should say EARLY scan not earth scan! Oops!

I’ve tried googling the answer, maybe I’m not googling it right but I can’t seem to get an answer for the question.

I had a scan at 7w3d and saw my little bean there with a heartbeat. Does anyone know what the % is that you will go on to miscarry if you’ve seen a heartbeat?

Got a few more weeks to wait until my 12 week scan and I keep thinking the worst so I guess I’m after some reassurance

thank you

I remember seeing on the Tommy’s website that the risk was 10% after seeing a heartbeat at 7 weeks.

I had quite a lot of anxiety in my early pregnancy (now almost 25 weeks). I would go on this website as it helped calm me. https://datayze.com/miscarriage-reassurer

I know it can be a really anxiety inducing time. I had 2 private scans before my 12 week scan. I was even had dreams about losing my baby which really didn’t help. But for me it was just trying to remember that I had a much higher chance of bringing a baby home than I did of having a miscarriage once I heard a heartbeat that helped my anxiety.

I hope this helps a bit but please know, myself and many other people have been in the same position and felt the same way.

this is what is says about the model the website created:

The underlying model for this site is derived using meta analysis of the following peer reviewed papers on miscarriage. The model can be be used without additional input, or can be adjusted with any combination of maternal age, height/weight (BMI), number of previous miscarriages and number of previous births inputs. Each variable is modeled separately, assumed to be independent and assumed to affect the probability of miscarriage uniformly over time. These assumptions are likely overly strong, as there are likely confounding variables, but is the most reasonable approximation in the absence of additional data.

Miscarriage Odds Reassurer

A positive spin on Miscarriage. The Reassurer shows you the odds of miscarriage and birth based on pregnancy length and maternal history.
