Hey everyone so I've currently got sinusitis and have had the pain for 5 days. I'm taking paracetamol and doctor has prescribed me a steroid nasal spray.

Any other home remedies that might help? It's so painful, feel like I've been punched in the face 😫

Also currently 14 weeks pregnant, still being sick and my appetite is awful so worried about that. Also worried how much paracetamol I'm taking. Obvs not taking more than 8 a day.

Sorry it's miserable.
Lots if fluids, hot drinks
Inhale steam a few times a day

Try the NeilMed sinus rinse system. It's easy to use and helps a lot with sinus congestion. It should help you and is drug free

Head over a bowl of hot water! I lived on the vicks nose stick things that you just breathe up while pregnant. You can also get little menthol crystals to put in the water from pharmacy but check if they can be used while pregnant. I suffer with sinusitis anyway but found the more pregnant I got the more my sinuses were blocked- GP said it was something to do with hormones.

My sympathies, OP. I'm 5 weeks today and battling it too. My doc prescribed me amoxicillin, but I also have a chest infection. 😭I've totally had a couple of goes on the Vicks sinex at night, though I know I shouldn't, but it's really bloody awful isn't it?!

Seconding the NeilMed and steam inhalation tips. The irrigation hasn't helped me with the congestion yet, but it makes me feel like I'm preventing the infection from worsening. A bit of Vicks VapoRub in hot water with a towel over my head was really nice last night.

Good luck, OP. Hope it eases for you soon. x

Get a humidifier and use a salt water nasal rinse as well x

You have my sympathies because I had it for 8 long weeks in pregnancy and it took three courses of antibiotics to get rid of it, nothing worked at all.
