Is this your first baby

I think if you are at home, you might be able to manage wihtout G&A.

They'll only supply G&A for you at home if you are planning a homebirth I'm afraid. Why not have a home birth if you want to spend most of the time at home anyway?

I think (this is not meant to sound horrible!) if you are bad enough for G & A, you really should be in hospital. But I was induced last time so no real experience. I was only offered G & A when in fully swung labour though, after being admitted into the delivery suite. Have you thought about using a TENS machine?

I would sugest having a bath, but this can slow labour if you are less thatn 5cm dilated. Traveling to hospital towards the end of labour could be VERY uncomfortable. Is the hospital very close?

Have you considered hypnobirthing?
