Is cramping at 4 weeks normal?

I'm 4 weeks pregnant today and I've had cramping for the majority of the day today. They feel like little sharp pains. My period is due tomorrow and I'm planning on telling other family members I'm pregnant but because of the cramping I'm getting today I'm a little scared it could be something bad.

Cramping is very common in the beginning. Congratulations 😊 x

Goodness yes! With my second child I kept using a tampon as I was certain my period was coming and I was on holiday swimming etc .., turns out I was pregnant
It's the embryo burrowing into the uterus can cause cramping and some spotting too - congratulations!

I'm 4 weeks tomorrow and am having lots of cramps! It's totally normal ❤️

I would be cautious if I was you. Very mild cramps can be normal, not sure about sharp so early.

Hello ladies, I have just found out I am 4 weeks and 5 days pregnant and I've been having dull period like pains for at least 10 days now but no bleeding. It's making me very anxious that something is wrong. Any advice is welcome x

I had lots of cramps up to about 6 weeks that felt a little bit like a period. I think it’s quite normal, get some advice from your midwife if you notice any spotting or bleeding.

Yes!! 100% normal. I was convinced my period was coming, and had cramping for the first few months of pregnancy.
