Hey. I'm just wondering if anyone's experienced this.

Passed 3 days I've had a bad headache, pounding headache that hurts my eyes and I feel like I've not slept if that makes sense.
I was in the hospital 2 days ago for a growth scan and monitoring, baby is absolutely fine. I had lucozides (can't spell it) in my wee so they sent it off.

But I just feel so so crap today! Headache, eyes hurt, sick, dizzy/light headed absolutely no energy, tired, just generally crap!

Is this just because I'm nearly at the end or would I need to discuss my symptoms with someone?

Have they checked you for Pre Eclampsia?

hannah345 · 25/11/2023 12:04

@Kittylickingplate they have never said they have checked. Don't no how they would. But I haven't mentioned my symptoms to anyone yet as don't know if it's worth mentioning it, or wether I'm being a baby today!

Can you contact your midwife and get a blood pressure check. Headachea can be a symptom of high blood pressure and it would be sensible to rule it out

Cornettoninja · 25/11/2023 12:06

Definitely worth mentioning, today. @reesewithoutaspoon is spot on with the advice imho.

mamakoukla · 25/11/2023 12:06

Please get checked as it doesn’t sound right. I would if it were me, especially as it’s been three days (you’ve more than given it a chance to resolve)

hannah345 · 25/11/2023 12:07

They checked my blood pressure 2 days ago, and they didn't mention anything. But symptoms have ampt up today.

I'm an hour away from a hospital so not sure if its worth bothering them

I think it is; this isn’t your normal is it?

Tulipvase · 25/11/2023 12:09

I also think you need to be checked for pre eclampsia. Do you know anyone with a blood pressure monitor? Or anywhere near a pharmacy that’s likely to have one?

Personally I’d be calling the hospital maternity unit or my MW.

ThePineapplePrincess · 25/11/2023 12:09

You should ask them for a PLGF test to check for preeclampsia.

You don’t always have high blood pressure with preeclampsia - I never did, even at the end.

Cornettoninja · 25/11/2023 12:10

I just double checked leukocytes in pregnancy to refresh my memory - can be indicative of a urine/kidney infection but can also be an indicator of eclampsia. So is a headache.

You need to get that ruled out asap. Even if they do rule it out that doesn’t mean it’s ruled out if new symptoms appear or current ones get worse. They need to rule it out again.

Go get checked.

Gabby10 · 25/11/2023 12:11

I would contact maternity unit- this is how I started with pre-eclampsia, it could just be that it's the last few weeks and you're tired but I personally wouldn't take the risk x

LunaTheCat · 25/11/2023 13:51

Those are worrying symptoms in late pregnancy. You need to do ask help straight away… go to A and E.

mamakoukla · 25/11/2023 14:02

@hannah345 it seems the answer to the question you asked has been fairly consistent. I know an hour visit to a hospital seems a long trip but it’s best to make sure sure. I hope you have someone who can drive you there or keep you company; most people would say yes if you asked.

Please do get seen, or at the very least call in to your maternity unit for advice. Don’t downplay your symptoms.

DramaAlpaca · 25/11/2023 14:06

I agree with everyone else, it's important you get checked out today.

Bostonbakedbeans · 25/11/2023 14:21

I had this when diagnosed with preeclampsia - my blood pressure was through the roof. Speak to your midwife today, or go to hospital!

hannah345 · 25/11/2023 14:58

Thank you everyone for your messages! Means alot. I shall keep you all updated x

hannah345 · 28/11/2023 12:31
