Can’t see anything on ultrasound at 4.5/5 weeks

Hi everyone,

I recently found out I’m pregnant with my 3rd baby. I had a coil fitted, and my coil came out. I found out I was pregnant soon after. I had a scan yesterday and nothing at all could be seen, not even a sack.

I had bloods after and they will get back to me tomorrow with how my hcg is doing. I am really anxious since this scan, I felt totally fine beforehand and after not seeing anything now I’m questioning everything. Am I even pregnant? Am I making this up?

I still am experiencing the same symptoms - sore boobs, exhausted, missed period.

I haven’t had any bleeding or pain or anything to suggest the pregnancy is not developing well.

just looking for some reassurance, the wait is horrible :(

I’m sorry you’re feeling so worried. I’ve not got a lot of advice other than the nhs refused to scan me before 6 weeks based on the chances of not seeing anything . They said it was unlikely to see anything, including a sac and wouldn’t want to worry me so held off until o was 6 weeks.

I’m hoping it was just too early to scan for you!

they phoned me yesterday with hcg results and all looks well, they are doubling as expected so that is a good sign x

It's just too early, most private scan places won't see you before 8 weeks unless exceptional circumstances. I'm in the same boat and the wait is hard I know! But just hold on for a couple more weeks x

I thought that was normal tbh it’s so early
nhs also refused to scan me before 6 weeks as it was unlikely they’d see anything
if your bloods are showing fine just try to wait it out
