Hi everyone. I'm very early into pregnancy at almost 8 weeks but I can't stop thinking about my previous birth as it was very traumatic for me.
I have extremely fast labours making my contractions more painful and they come one on top of the other with no break. At 4pm I was told I was 5cm and rushed onto the labour ward and gave birth at 4:30. Immediately after birth I had postpartum hemorrhage and the emergency button was pressed. The room filled up and they rushed a cannula in, rushed to get the placenta out, rushed to get a catheter into my bladder and also examined some rather sensitive areas to check I didn't tear 🍑 😩😩
The whole thing left me too scared to move or even hold my baby for sometime after. I felt like if I did something awful was going happen.
I'm yet to receive a booking in appointment to discuss my worries so I'm coming here in the meantime.

Anyone requested a c section after a traumatic birth including a hemorrhage? Or is there anyway they can make your next birth safer if you go natural? I'm worried next time I won't even make it to the hospital and give birth and hemorrhage on the way 😩😩 I'm 30 mins away from a hospital and 30 mins away from family in the other direcrion as they would need to have my other children before I could go x

First of all, im sorry you had such a traumatic birth experience.

You can definitely request a c section. When you have your booking appointment, ask to speak to a consultant and they will be able to advise you as to what are the options for you to feel safer. Not sure when you'll see one but should be around 24 weeks if you're not classed high risk already. You've got this ❤️

I had this with my first. I went to my gp before trying for my second and he said some things that increase your risk factor are induction and an epidural. I was consultant led for first few apps and then it was decided I’d have a canula put in as soon as I was in active labour in case they needed to get drugs in to me if it happened again. I was lucky I laboured naturally and in the end my daughter was delivered in 2 pushes!
I was told that a c section doesn’t stop the risk of a PPH but obviously you should go with whatever you are comfortable. Sending positivity xx

Thank you for your comments. I think it's in my head if I hemorrhage with a c section I'm already prepped and prepared and numb if that makes sense. I'm already high risk as I have Thyroid Disease so will deffo be having plenty of chats with them. They said I most likely hemorrhaged because my son was born so quickly. He came out with really bad facial decongestion as well and stayed blue for hours due to the fast delivery it was awful 😢 went into labour natural and no time for pain relief other than gas and air x
