When it came to it obviously I couldnt bring myself to actually eat chalk however I settled for marshmallows instead allthough I am dreaming of that soft chalky rock you get from the seaside but cannot buy it in the shops... I have had no cravings my whole pg until now x nybody else had this??

One of my friends who was pg the same time as me craved chalky things, and even admitted picking the bare plaster off her bathroom wall to suck!
She found those chalky, crumbly mints helped her in the end and an endless supply of Tums.

oh er bare plaster eh!! thats weird.. I will try those mints although i am off 2 seaside nxt weekend... first stop the rock shop..

Lucozade energy sweets are wonderful, they're very crumbly and chalky and even look like little dusty blocks of chalk. Get yourself some of those!

I always thought cravings were useful, so chalk = calcium??? are you getting enough calcium from dairy products????

charlotte121 · 12/03/2008 22:49

lol think yourself lucky. some people with pica wanna eat poo!!!! YUCK! you got off lightly. I have pica too, but i scoff hords of ice... cant get enough of the stuff.
Pica is when your body craves things which have no nutritional benefit to your body. It is usually an indication of low iron.

Minkus · 13/03/2008 09:30

No nutritional value- like Maccy D's then

mmmmmmm chalk, ice cubes, petrol, tarmac, creosote (sp?) white spirit to name but a few, got 6 weeks left and can't wait to stop wanting to eat dry dirt, luckily haven't had the poo craving yet, phew!!!!!!!!!!
