Booked a pregnancy progress test with medichecks as I've been concerned over my progress and GP is a waste of time and won't do the bloods. Epu won't see me either as required a referral. I'm almost 6 weeks.
Only after dispatch have they told me to avoid biotin as this can interfere with false hcg levels. They advise me to stop taking any supplements 2 days prior.
Does anyone have an experience with this ? It's impossible to find a pregnancy supplement without biotin.
I've spoke to my medical practice this morning about this and they've told me I should not stop taking my prenatal as its extremely important I'm getting folic and D, aswell as iron .
Does biotin really affect hcg levels that much

Biotin in small quantities is fine. It’s the high dose biotin supplements with 150μg + that affect HCG levels. Please bare in mind, biotin gives false low levels of HCG, your levels won’t actually be that low for the baby.
