Morning all

I’ve rang and made a drs appointment today as I am so fed up of being miserable and unwell all the time. I’m rarely actually sick but I feel severely ill every time I move. It’s really impacting my quality of life and work.

what did the doctors prescribe you and did it work? How quick did it work and did you have any side effects? And when did you stop taking it?

Thank you in advance. I am so desperate for some relief from this constant nausea feeling

I'm a very new mum and suffered with Hyperemesis throughout pregnancy. I don't want to scare you but the only time it stopped was 2 days after DS was born. I lost nearly 3 stone whilst I was pregnant. My GP tried every anti sickness medication available for pregnant women and I ended up in A and E (before 20 weeks) and triage on a drip many times.

Hyperemesis is miserable OP and I hope you can get sorted soon.

I was prescribed promethazine from 6 weeks pregnant and took it almost continuously until around 18 weeks. I had to take a tablet before bed as it makes you drowsy, I took one in the morning one day also when it was really bad (had it ok’d with the doc) and they made me feel like I’d almost been knocked out I was so tired so I managed to survive on the one a night before bed.

I was like you and had nausea a lot but I was never actually sick. It did ease halfway into the second trimester for me so hopefully it’ll ease for you but don’t worry about taking the meds as the docs wouldn’t prescribe them if they weren’t safe - I’d never have coped if I didn’t take mine xx
