I’m 30 weeks pregnant. I know aches and pains are to be expected. But the last few weeks I’ve been really struggling with right hip/back pain when lying in bed. It’s like there’s a specific spot around the bony part at the top of the hip at the back, that is really sore. Makes sleeping really difficult. I’ve been trying to sleep on my left but sometimes I need to change position as I’ve been there for hours, and the only other option is to sleep on that right side to avoid being on my back. The pain starts almost immediately if I lie on my right side. I can ease it a bit by lying a bit more upright/straight if that makes sense, but it can be difficult to sustain plus it feels like I’m either twisting my torso somewhat, or falling onto my back.
The thing is, during the day this pain barely bothers me, if at all! It goes away very quickly after standing up & moving around.
I have a pregnancy pillow which is between my knees. I’ve experimented with using an ordinary pillow under my hips for a bit more cushioning, it didn’t help. Tried a few other pillow combos, no help. My bump isn’t huge so it doesn’t really rest on the pillow as it doesn’t reach yet, don’t know if that’s a factor.
Can anyone help or offer tips? This has been so disruptive to my sleep and I’m a bit desperate
