Hello,
I posted a few days ago but for some reason I can't find the post. Sorry for the long rambled post.
I was getting very faint pregnancy tests from 5th November on early response, after a peak on an ovulation test on CD23. My cycles can be a bit erratic, generally at least 32 days, not unusual to be 38 or 40. I think the longest I've had is 42. Early responses were getting darker but i didn't get a positive on a clear blue digital until 10th November (1-2 weeks).
I was sent to the epu after discussing some very minor spotting with my doctor (tiny amount of blood on loo roll (quite literally dots) 11th and 12th November. They asked me about cramping and the only cramping that I have had was 13th November (probably lasted 5 mins max) it was no different to v mild period pain (to be honest I assumed it was all part of being pregnant).
Fast forward this week I've had three bloods tests to monitor my hcg
13/11 hcg 70
15/11 hcg 104
17/11 hcg 114
They've mentioned I'm not showing symptoms of ectopic at the moment but it could well be a non viable pregnancy. They seem to agree with me that the original spotting was probably nothing but in the mean time, looking into it has lead to this discovery.
I'm slightly confused to be honest, they told me all of last week that they couldn't scan me because my hcg levels are too low ( which is understood). In the mean time I lost my marbles (lack if sleep I think) and booked and had a private scan on 16th. I literally told the sonographer that I knew they wouldn't see anything bit if I paid could they scan me anyway in my moment of madness. This ofcourse showed nothing at all. I told the sonographer my dates and levels and she did say you could just be extremely early because of ovulation dates etc so it's not to say you aren't pregnant. I thought that they had to double every 48 hours from day 1 (at this point I will add I hadn't had my third blood test where it only increased by 10).
Anyway fast forward to tomorrow I have a scan at 9am in the epu. I still don't really understand what it's going to tell me because my levels are far too low to see anything.
Has anyone had anything similar or any success stories with static/slow rising HCG?
I've done a lot of reading and I'm fully prepared that this is likely to go wrong and in the mean time watching out for the usual symptoms of ectopic.
Bizarrely the only change I have had from last week is I woke up with extremely sore boobs this morning that are twice the size (something I haven't had since I had a positive test). I've had no bleeding or cramps whatsoever since those very minor early ones I mentioned.
Thank you x
