Any tips to help prevent hair loss after baby arrives?

Currently 6 weeks so ideally want to start taking supplements now if there is anything that will help hair loss after birth?

I also have an 18 month old and had severe hair loss with her...my frizzy halo has only just gotten long enough to pass as a fringe.

Has anyone found anything that works?

I would say take your pregnancy vitamins daily, use Plantur 39 shampoo and tonic and use New Mum Pregnacare vitamins as soon as you give birth. I’m pregnant too and although my hair has been shedding a bit during pregnancy I pray it doesn’t fall out postnatal but those things should help. I’ve heard if you continually shedded hair during pregnancy then postnatal hair loss either shouldn’t happen or be less severe

If it's any help at all, my worst hair loss was with baby no 2 when I had an 18month age gap, I think my hormones were all over the place. With baby no 3 the regrowth started at about 6 months and is already so much better. Try not to fixate on it.

Iron PP is key, and your hair is retained during pregnancy so as a result, feels so extreme PP.

Keeping remembering that you are losing more hair than you ever had, and it will happen, it can be upsetting, but it will grow back in its own way.

It's caused by normal hormone changes after giving birth. Vitamins are not going to change that.

You will either have excessive hair loss after pregnancy or you won't, and it doesn't necessarily happen after each child you have. I certainly would not take any other "supplements" during pregnancy other than what is recommended. They wouldn't help anyway.
