Congratulations by the way...only two months behind you. This is my first.

Hope all is going well for you. Have you had your second scan yet?

AHLH · 13/03/2008 11:26

Hi Babybump08.

I'm due on 16th Sept too. Still feeling & being awfully sick. Exitement has yet to set in.

Leenie · 14/03/2008 12:58

Hi i am due on the 9th sept, not feeling sick anymore, but still very tired and achy, i am waiting for the 2nd trimester's burst of energy to appear, my belly has got a lot bigger quicker this time, and i have definately started to feel light movements recently... this is my 3rd pregnancy, i do not ever remember beiong so exhausted, Is anyone else over tired ??? I am 36 so not sure if it is my age my last pregnancy was 15 yrs ago and the first 17yrs, so i was probably just more active back then ... has anyone else got a big gap between pregnancies, and has it took all your energy too ???

Hi, I'm due on 18 September 2008. This is my first pregnancy. I've been really suffering with nausea and have felt completely exhausted for the past 13 weeks. I'm hoping this will start to get better soon! I've been really anxious that something was going to go wrong until now so have just started telling family and friends but I'm trying to be positive and start enjoying the pregnancy from now on. Any advice on what to expect from the next month or so?

babybump08 · 15/03/2008 09:07

Hi Leenie, this is my first. I'm 29 and have no energy what so ever so your deff not on your own. I'm normally a late nighter and I've been going to bed at 9pm or going for a nap straight after work. This lil one is draining me ... but it can have what ever it wants as long as it's ok.

The bump is growing very slowly...it measured 6.9mm at my 13week scan. It's still crazy to think there is a lil being inside.

I've only just started to feel a lil bit better...I had really bad sickness from week 6, visiting the bathroom at least 3 times day which has calmed down to just feeling a lil nausea at night time.

Hope u both feel better soon, good luck with your pregnancies.

Is anyone showing yet? I keep prodding my stomach but can still only feel my tummy fat - nothing hard yet!

Leenie · 17/03/2008 13:22

Hi,

good to know that i am not the only exhausted one still, i am also coming home from work and falling into bed, sometimes as early as 8pm, i was also a nocturnal girl b4 this !

CAT make the most of it if ur not showing yet girl, bcos u very soon will be, i feel like i have sprouted in the last week or two, the only plus is that people no longer wonder if i am just putting on weight, it now clearly looks like a pregnant tum,
has any one started to buy baby bits yet,??? !! i went baby shopping for the first time on saturday, and it felt weird almost like it was too early to buy things like clothes, nappies ect..., i ended up just buying furniture bits like crib, bouncer, monitor ect, Also, sorry to make this so long, is anyone considering using cotton nappies instead of disposables?? i am seriously considering it, for when at home it seems that although the innitial start up is a bit pricey, they are economical in the long run

lou222 · 17/03/2008 16:33

hi all
i'm due on the 18th sep
but absolutely no bump whatsoever - i've lost a stone through nausea!!
quite looking forward to having a bump as this is my first !
leenie i've bought books , a baby sling and a comfort pillow so far.
am seriously considering disposable but no-one i know uses them and just laughs when i say i will !

lou222 · 17/03/2008 16:34

ps spango we're due on the same date !
have you had a vist from the midwife yet?

spango · 19/03/2008 17:15

Hi lou222, yes I've had 2 midwife appts so far, one at 8 weeks where they just went through medical & family history etc and then another last week where I got to hear the heartbeat. I also had a nuchal translucency scan at 12 weeks which was reasurring.
I'm sorry you've been suffering with the nausea too, I think mine is just starting to get better now so fingers crossed for you too.
I'm just starting to get a small bump and can feel my jeans getting tighter round the waist. I really fancy splashing out on some maternity clothes in anticipation but wondering if its far too early to do this??

Goldiewithabump · 19/03/2008 17:51

Hi all,

So reassuring that you are all exhausted, keep thinking it should all be getting rosy and hoping for the glowing bit?! {grin}

On maternity clothes... has anyone tried the bump bands yet. Not sure if they are worth getting or just going headlong into maternity jeans??

babybump08 · 22/03/2008 11:21

Hey all

Goldie my sister used those bump bands during her pregnancy they were fab!

I've not started shopping yet but my jeans are getting a little tighter so I think I need to start looking for maternity gear. Does anyone know any decent high street shops that have maternity sections????

lou222 · 22/03/2008 13:39

hi spango
my midwife called yesterday, rang in the morning and came in the afternoon, think they'd forgotten about me
she didnt listen for the heartbeat though and i forgot to ask!
still no bump - not feeling as nauseous but still no appetite
i really want a bump!!
i'm not buying maternity till i really need it as a couple of friends said if you buy things now thinking they'll fit later they might not - just don't know what shape i'm going to be!
as the fashion has been loose tops i seem to have alot of things that will do
and my friend has given me some maternity jeans so don't plan on going too crazy although it's nice to look
top shop do have a small maternity section and i think they had the bump bands aswell

AHLH · 26/03/2008 13:11

Further to my last post.... not feeling sick anymore, heard babe's heartbeat this morning, exitement has set in! Tiny bump appearing!

spango · 26/03/2008 18:16

Hi, yes hearing the heart beat makes it all far more real. I'm looking forward to my next midwife appt in a couple of weeks just to hear it again. My small bump seems to be growing too, although that could just be Easter Egg! I'm still having strong moments of anxiety that something will go wrong even though I'm now past the dodgy first trimester, is anyone else feeling like this?
