10 dpo to 12dpo lines- worried

Hi Guys,

I've had 1 ectopic and 5 chemical pregnancies to date.

We finally went private as weren't getting any support from the NHS and they have put me on progesterone.

I got a faint positive at 8dpo much to my disbelief as I've never had a positive so early so was feeling hopeful!

However starting to worry now I know HCG is meant to double within 48 hours but my boots early tests at 10dpo and 12dpo look exactly the same.

That anxiety is starting to creep back in. Just looking for a bit reassurance that this isn't going to be another chemical pregnancy.. only hope I have is this is the darkest my lines have ever gotten (they aren't even that dark but small wins!)

Thanks so much ladies 💜

12dpo is still early, so I would guess that’s why your lines are faint (and tbh they don’t look that faint to me!) Have you tried with any other tests?

lpttc · 15/11/2023 11:49

@Pupsandturtles Hey!

I've used some easy at home and wondfo aswell but not getting the best lines with them.

I think I'm worried because if I was getting a positive since 8dpo surely there should be some bigger difference in the tests. Might just be my anxious brain over thinking it.

Pregnancy after losses really messes with your brain!

I totally understand. I’m at 15dpo and my lines on easy@home look the same as yours, if that helps! They only just showed up though, so I’m also worried about a chemical….

do you have any symptoms?

lpttc · 15/11/2023 12:07

@Pupsandturtles oh bless you I have everything crossed for you too lovely!

I've had the worst insomnia, boobs hurting and a bit nauseous however I am putting this down to the progesterone pessaries I was prescribed from the clinic as they only showed up when I started using the pessaries.

Have you had any symptoms? Have you used any other tests I've been finding the internet cheapies are very hit and miss aren't they xx

I’ve had the same symptoms! But I get a lot of symptoms in the TWW, so I think a lot of it is in my head 🙈 I’m heading out shortly to buy some different tests… maybe a clearblue will be more informative! Please keep me updated with how your tests progress! So stressful isn’t it, I can’t focus on much else today!

lpttc · 15/11/2023 12:26

@Pupsandturtles these boots early ones are good aswell! Good luck lovely it's a stressful time. Definitely keep in touch and keep me posted on your test results xx

Remember because you've tested early the doubling is still really small, if it was 10 on the first one it would be 20 then 40 2 days after that, hcg ends up in the thousands so it might take a while for a nice strong line

I got my first faint line about 14dpo and it took until 21dpo to have a line as strong as the control line. For 7 days I was in a panic about a CP so try and not worry too much just yet. I do see a small difference in the 2, the most recent one is darker!

lpttc · 15/11/2023 12:39

@justanotherlaura thanks Laura that is very true and I think if I didn't have my anxiety ttc brain on I would think more logically about it.

Crazy how quickly you can spiral when TTC🥹 x

I agree with pp, the second one is slightly darker. They look like very good lines to me for 12dpo!

Olika · 15/11/2023 12:55

I wouldn't worry. You have lovely lines for testing early.

PinkRoses1245 · 15/11/2023 13:40

I really wouldn't worry. I only got a very faint line at 15 dpo. It's really not indicative of progress.

lpttc · 15/11/2023 13:45

Thanks everyone going to try lay off the tests for a while to stop me going loopyBlush

@Pupsandturtles Hey how are you getting on? I've not had much luck with wondfo or easy at home. I think I might be having a bit of progression on the boots ones but still making me anxious think it's very easy to compare to other peoples lines progressions!

Everything crossed for you too keep me posted! X

Looks like the stopping testing went well 😂

pregnancy tests are not designed to be used like this. Although in theory you’d think more hcg should equal darker lines, that’s not what they’re designed for. It’s a binary result - positive or negative. For some reason the darkness of the line can be influenced by other factors. The only way to measure the levels is a blood test so do speak with your doctor if you’re worried.

lpttc · 17/11/2023 07:39

@Toda11 yeah went straight out the window 🤣😅 it was a nice thought!

pleased it’s going well for you @lpttc !

im still getting positives on early detection and negatives on regular detection. So I have to assume something is wrong…..

Olika · 17/11/2023 10:22

You have great lines in your tests so nothing to worry about. Try to relax, take vitamins and eat healthy. That's the best you can do now. Smile

Octaviathethird · 17/11/2023 15:28

You have wonderful line progression, please try not to worry, I know it's hard, especially after loss. I carried on testing until I was 6 months pregnant!

lpttc · 20/11/2023 09:34

Just an update for anyone who maybe finds this later on my test today is even lighter and I've started to spot 😞 think I'm out
