Bloody Show at 31 + 6

I lost a lot of mucus over the last few days, and lost some red blood last night. Ive been checked over, and my cervix is still closed.

Just wondering if anyone else had lost their plug or had a bloody show this early? And did it have any bearing on when you delivered?

I started losing my show at about 33 weeks IIRC, I was eventually induced at 41 weeks, so really it doesn't mean you will deffo go into labour now or soon.

I guess ill probably still go over like i did with my other 2 then lol

Well I don't want to scaremonger but I had a bloody show at 36 weeks, DD was born the next day.

Considering your gestation - I think I'd definitely go to the Labour Ward for a checkup.

It is a PITA, but better than going into labour at 32 weeks!

NatalieJane · 11/03/2008 17:39

Dejags, she's been checked.

dejags · 11/03/2008 17:40

Ah I misunderstood, I misread that she had checked herself.

Sorry MJP. Good luck for the rest of your pregnancy!

missjennipenni · 11/03/2008 17:42

dejags - No, i was checked at the hosp (lol couldnt imagine checking myself!)

I want him too cook a bit longer, but was hoping this would mean he would come 38-ish weeks instead of going over! lol ah well!

Thanks though

I had a v small amount of borwn bloody mucous at 25+something. It continued daily for 10 days. It was a tiny amount of mucous compared to what you describe. My cervix was checked at first instance and at 26+6, both long and tightly closed. I delivered at 26+7 after just 5hrs of silent labour that had the MWs and monitor belt taco thing fooled.

Keep a v v close eye for anything that could be contractions.....

But OTHO as others have said you could go to 40wks....

missjennipenni · 11/03/2008 17:55

Im crampy, but they werent showing as contractions on the monitor, and they arent getting any worse.

Mine weren't registering as contractions an hour before I gave birth. By the time I had DD3 they had changed the policy and no longer use the monitor prior to 32wks as they acknowledge it isn't accurate.

Please if you get more than 4 contractions/cramps in an hour call your delivery suite for advice. Up until 1hr before I delivered I was contracting v mildly but in minimal pain. If I wasn't already in hosp being monitored (soley because of discharge) I would have delivered at home/en route...which would have been fatal for DTDs at 27wks . As it happens I was 2 mins from delivery suite...and now have 2 7yos causing me grief [happy].

It may all sound scary, I just want you to be aware of what can happen as a worst case scenario, but please also be reassured by teh positive stories above.

Thank you so much. Im still losing small bits of plug, but thankfully no contractions or pains. Im also about 40 mins away from the hospital, so i really will keep a close eye on what is happening!

Im glad your babies were fine
