It's my third and I genuinely have no preference but I was convinced it was a girl from conception and everything has pointed it to being a boy! But I'm just so, so sure. Not finding out until the little one arrives.

Yes!! My second pregnancy was so different from my first so I was convinced the second one was a girl. Absolutely convinced. I'd have bet all my money on it. I now have two boys! 😂. Good job I didn't bet.

I was convinced I was having a boy. No idea why. The first, second and third scan they said they think it's a girl - not "it is a girl" which may be normal but made me feel like they weren't sure. Then I ended up having a crash section and the anaesthesiologist asked me what I was having so I told him I was sure it's a boy but told a girl. As she was pulled out he said "I thought you said you were having a girl? I gasped and he said he was "just kidding" We all laughed and I still laugh to this day.

P.s congratulations

HappyAsASandboy · 13/11/2023 18:59

Yes. Took me a while to come to terms with the baby being the other sex when I saw the evidence on a Harmony test at about 11 (?) weeks.

I knew her name and everything. It was a real shock, despite obviously knowing that I didn't actually "know".

This is hilarious.

I'm lucky I don't have a preference but I'm just absolutely sure it's a girl in spite of nub theory and what a sonographer may or may not have let slip!

Ages ago I was convinced my first was a girl. She would have been 'Elizabeth Daisy'. I was so convinced that I suggested if a boy Dad could choose name. He is into ancient history, so son would be Phillip (of Macedone) Alexander (the Great, his son) Selucius One-Eye (succeeding general). I managed to avoid the 'one-eye' when our son was born!

PickledScrump · 13/11/2023 19:49

I was convinced my second was a boy as it was so different from my first. I now have 3 girls. I’d say if you’ve seen a boy nub then it’s likely a boy. All nubs look girly to start with but only boy nubs rise.

It wasn't a 100% obvious one. I really want a surprise but obv I sort of think it's a girl and rationally think it's a boy so not much room for surprise there...

I was wrong both times!

Dappledgrey · 13/11/2023 20:24

@plsbequiet im in the same boat! Convinced it’s a girl but everything points boy! When are you due? I’m struggling with not finding out now.

Due at Christmas! I already have one of each. I'm struggling with not finding out too but really wanted a surprise for my last one.

What makes you think it's a boy? When are you due?

@plsbequiet oh you don’t have long left to wait now! I’m due at the end of feb and already have a little boy. The pregnancy is the same as with him, carrying low and out front and the heart beat is low. I also saw something between its legs on the 12 week scan which has also made me think it’s a boy!

I’ve got a scan coming up at 28 weeks and I am so tempted to put myself out of my misery and find out!

Mumaway · 13/11/2023 20:48

Completely. 2nd pregnancy different in every way, was convinced it was a boy. Didn't even think of a girl's name. Of course it was a girl. She is different in every way to her big sister though!

@Dappledgrey for what it's worth I don't think any of those sound conclusive.

I was convinced my first was a girl. Had a name picked out. When told he was a boy I had to get the sonographer to have another look.

DogLegMotor · 13/11/2023 20:56

Convinced second baby was different sex. I was incredibly poorly, lost weight rather than gained it, my first pregnancy I gained a lot of weight really quickly without trying. My bump was different too. Nope turned out same sex as the first one. Found out at 20 week scan. I had imagined the nursery colours, picked out names from our original list for Ds1 if he was a girl. Totally blew my mind.

Congratulations and I hope it all goes smoothly.

MrsC2018 · 13/11/2023 21:26

Me! Third baby, already have one of each and based on symptoms convinced this one is a girl but found out this week he's definitely a boy! Over the moon, adore my boys but so shocked! I nearly said to my husband he could name baby if it was a boy but held back as he has truly awful taste in baby names 🤣

rainbow616 · 13/11/2023 21:30

I've got a boy and a girl and for both pregnancy's I was absolutely certain that they were the opposite gender before I found out! I don't know what made me so sure but was completely wrong 🤦‍♀️🤣🤣

Emelene · 13/11/2023 21:36

Me! Didn’t find out with first baby was convinced it was a he, to the point I was talking to my bump calling baby our boy name. Husband was convinced too. Out came our girl! I was a bit surprised! But it felt like it “clicked” and we were always meant to have a girl.

TheArtfulScreamer1 · 13/11/2023 21:43

DD was my first and I was convinced she was a boy nearly fell off the operating table when she was presented to me vagina first by the midwife. With DS my pregnancy was very similar to DD but I wasn't about to fall into any mothers intuition nonsense for the second time so I had no real idea other than possibly seeing what could've been penis on the 20 week scan.

SareBear87 · 13/11/2023 21:44

I didn't have a preference but I was absolutely 1000% convinced I was having a boy. To the point I didn't even consider girls names. No reason why I felt so strongly, but no amount of evidence would have made me change my mind.
We didn't have a sex/gender reveal so you can imagine my utter surprise when, after a lifetime of labour, the midwife held up my little girl!
I remember looking at my partner utterly confused (and knackered!) like "where's the baby boy?" 🤣

Roselilly36 · 14/11/2023 06:42

My pregnancy was totally different with my second baby, thought perhaps it’s a girl. Went for scan, they seemed a little reluctant to tell me it was a it another little boy, I was delighted and just laughed.
