Subchorionic hematoma worries

Hey everyone I had my 12 week scan today. At 8 weeks I had a early scan as I had some bleeding (only one bleed and it was hardly anything!) They found a hematoma which was measuring over 50% of the sac at the time.
Today they said its still there but the sac is bigger so that's fine.....but I looked at the measurements and it's grown ....

8 weeks measurements 29x26x19mm
12 weeks measurements 39x33x20mm

I've had no bleeding or other symptoms which this.
Midwife said its very common and didn't seem concerned. I just need some more reassurance as im a very anxious person as it is and I was just preying it wouldn't be there anymore 😭😭

I had this, but first sign was a bleed at 12 weeks. Bled for 6 weeks, terrifying but unbelievably all was well and I'm now 36 weeks with a big bouncing baby.

Try not to worry. The SH are very common.

@puffysthename thankyou! Glad to hear all is going well =) do you know when yours went away?

I had one with my second - a very heavy bleed at 13 weeks which resulted in an overnight stay as they thought it was a threatened miscarriage. Got a scan the next day and had a SCH which was measuring 6cm. I bled on and off until 18 weeks so avoided sex, heavy lifting, drinking lots of water and resting.

SCH was fully resolved by our 20 week scan and baby was born at 38+2 weeks weighing 8lb 13oz 🥰

Sending hugs as it really is an awful thing to go through x

@babythreeincoming thanks for sharing! So glad to hear all was resolved and resulted in a healthy bubba ❤️ I will try and rest and keep hydrated and hope it's gone by 20 weeks
I have no pain or bleeding so suppose that's good x

I had a huge bleed at around 6 weeks, and seeing it on the scan was horrific - it was twice the size of my baby and surrounding it. Bled on and off, sometimes heavy and clots until about 12 weeks, when it miraculously resolved. Just take it VERY easy.

puffysthename · 13/11/2023 20:53

Mine was resolved by 20 weeks as well, after haemorrhaging at 12 weeks. I bled for 6 weeks. It's so hard not to worry and think the worst. Rest, look after yourself and think positive thoughts x

@Werewolfnotswearwolf wow that must of been scary! Thankyou ill try and take it easy but it's hard with a toddler haha

I had this! A blood clot as big as my hand at 7 weeks pregnant. I thought I’d had a miscarriage. This was overseas so protocol may be different, but I was put on bed rest for 4 months. I had four bleeds in total and the amount of blood was unbelievable.

My DD from that pregnancy is 11 years old now.

Take it easy, OP. Rest up.
