Hello, I'm around 6.5 weeks and on and off I keep getting stomach cramps kind of like Braxton hicks/period cramps and in my back aswell and it's making me feel sick 😣 is paracetamol okay to take?

I'm fairly sure you can take paracetamol in pregnancy (definitely no ibuprofen though!)

Paracetamol is fine.

Ibuprofen is not.

I am under the care of Tommy's and I asked about this at my scan recently - was told it is absolutely fine to take paracetamol.

Paracetamol is safe in pregnancy if you stick to the recommended dosage

Paracetamol is fine but btw it's too early for braxton hicks and you might have a uti (they can cause womb cramps in pregnancy, I have had them a lot this pregnancy). Please go for a urine test, it can't do any harm, just in case. Hopefully I'm wrong but it's just weeing in a cup.

I nearly went into premature labour in my last pregnancy because of an untreated uti so I bang on about this all the time.

@Sarahjsxx You should go to the ER just to be clear, because I started having the same issue when I was 12 weeks pregnant I didn’t know it was more serious than it was, just to be safe for yourself and the baby safety. But I prefer taking Tylenol for pain relief. Please keep me updated if you do decide to go to the ER, best wishes for you and the little nugget.

I think if you are having pain that is bad enough to need medication, you should see a doctor.
