Is it normal to have racing heart in early pregnancy?

Hello, so I just found out today I'm 6ish weeks pregnant! Felt abit off last week but thought it was food poisoning, only just started to think could be pregnancy so did a test
The last 4 mornings when I've woken up I feel sick (of course), my heart feels like it's racing and once I stand up to walk to the kitchen my heart rate goes pretty high (like 140ish, I have an Apple Watch) about an hour after I've woken up it does go back to normal ish sometimes spikes abit. Previous pregnancies I don't remember this happening but it's pretty scary on the school run 😔 not sure if worth going to gp for, I have my midwife appointment in 2 weeks x

If you feel it racing then definitely go and get checked over. They might put it down to pregnancy and not feeling very well but no harm in getting it checked.
The gp might dismiss the Apple Watch reading
though and might send you to get an ecg to check.

I had this from weeks 6-17 of this pregnancy. Doctors took it very seriously and was sent to hospital for a battery of test.
The conclusion for me was that I was suffering with very low blood pressure (common in pregnancy) which caused my heart to race in compensation. Have you had any dizzy/lightheaded/faint spells?
It's really worth getting checked out, as tachycardia in pregnancy can be totally normal, it can also be a sign of something bigger/more serious.
