Burn on belly

Just looking for some reassurance! I am 33 wks pg and spilt some (nearly) boiling water out of a saucepan on my belly last night. It hasn't blistered but i have a purple/brown mark which looks like it may turn into a scab. I have been pretty rational about it so far but now i'm on my own with nothing to do (doesn't happen often!) I'm starting to worry about baby.

baby will be fine.

If you have burned yourself, though, that may need looking at. Sometimes burns can get quite nasty.

But baby will be absolutely fine. I promise.

Your baby is well protected in there, try not to worry.

Thanks (as she puts her sensible head back on!) Big bellies are just a bit too 'out there!' Been to the pharmacy and it was just the usual, go to the doctor if i am concerned about it. I'm sure i'd manage to get an appt in the 3 wks if i'm lucky!!!!

The baby will be fine, but you will prob find the burn mark stretches as you get bigger (veteran of 2 ironing accident while pg)

My skin doesn't really heal well normally so will probably have a mark for quite a while. My ironing board hasn't been out since i found out i was pg back in sept, so well done EffiePerine! Think my dh will be locking it in the shed if i said i was going to use it! I seem to be getting more and more accident prone.

yup, I managed to avoid stretch marks but have two ironing marks instead

not that I do any ironing now - ironing boards and toddlers do not mix

Just moisturize religiously twice a day to keep skin supple as it stretches.
Baby will be just fine.

azkat I burned my belly taking something out of the oven, tray touched belly I got a long brown mark but it faded eventually
all very annoying as I did not get any stretch marks and there was that unsightly thing across my belly
lots of moisturizing

I burned my belly as well taking tray out of oven. Scar faded - pity the rest of my strechmarks didn't! Your baby will be fine.
