Hello.

11+2 today.
Specialist paramedic at urgent care unit has prescribed me otomize - double ear infection and quite possibly the WORST pain I've had in my life. I checked 3 times that what they were going to give to me was safe - an actual dr wrote and gave me the prescription. He said he checked with a dr that it's safe.

Of course searched it's safe once I got out of the hospital and it's saying it's not to be taken in pregnancy? But then the leaflet in the packet just says to check with GP if preg or breastfeeding.

I've read some old posts here and it's pretty 50/50 and I know you should trust a medical professional over the internet, I'm just asking for other people's experience? And if they took it?

Thank you

Hey there

im 32 weeks currently and had to use otomize a good few times due to ear eczema in recent months….. if I am honest I couldn’t cope without it especially due to pain and itchiness. The doctor knows best and they have the add the pregnancy risk on every medication leaflet so I wouldn’t worry and you need to take care of your ears to avoid them getting worse

I am sure using otomize won’t do any harm, it hasn’t me anyway! Take care

I used it too when pregnant for horrendous earache that made me cry. It was fine

Thank you SO much ladies.

I'm in an absolute state here with the pain. I just seem to have an ear infection bouncing between my ears! I did take a second dose before bed and will now carry on after hearing you have both been okay! 🙏🏼
