Hi all,

This is my first pregnancy and via IVF. I have tried to eat healthy since my transfer but have defo craved chips & salt so much in the last week, on the 2 evenings I've had takeaway chips I've woken with excruciating tummy and back pain and what felt like trapped gas. Its not something I struggle with often so has made me feel really rubbish. Obviously not guna eat that food anymore but any suggestions on help with releasing trapped gas or tablets that are safe to take?

I've always had a sweet tooth but can't face anything sweet atm which is a blessing but hunger seems to strike so suddenly and just wanting carbs and something filling. Any suggestions on ways to tackle this?

I'm not snacking like I would have before cause it was usually sweet stuff. The only sweet thing I have is a couple of ginger biscuits on a morning

I had very bad trapped wind in first trimester this time. I found sucking a foxes glacier mint helped a lot x

Thank you. Will grab some tomorrow when shopping.

Can I ask at 6 weeks did you have lots of cramps, backache and just generally feeling rough in yourself?

I'm so grateful to be pregnant so don't wanna be a moan but honestly haven't felt so rough and not with it in a long time. I am on additional estrogen and progesterone due to it being IVF

Yes this is all normal and a very good sign. For most people they start to feel better around 12 weeks just be kind to yourself. Congratulations.

Yes. I had backache / period type back pain which has now returned since 35 weeks and still all ok.

You will start to feel better at around 12 weeks. The early days are hard and it's ok to think that even in a much wanted pregnancy x

@Neurodiversitydoctor @Tryingtoconceivenumber2 thank you for your kind words. Think I will feel a little better after the scan next week

@ttcsolomumtobe i struggle with trapped wind all the time and what I find helps is on hands and knees stick bum in the air head lower, it always works for me! Worth a try 😀
