Hi everyone!!

I’m 41 weeks pregnant, im getting induced Monday. We were hoping my water will break naturally or my cervix will open but unfortunately it didn’t happen. 😣😔

They told me yesterday she is weighing 3.7kg. It feels so big 😣 will I have a hard birth ? I’m scared 😔

Do not worry. My first baby was 17 days late. I went in to spontaneous labour and gave birth to a 9lb 12oz baby boy. All was fine.

Monday is ages away, walk as much as you can and have sex although I found being on all fours and scrubbing the floor worked best.

Good luck, I'd give a lot to turn back time and be where you are now.

Hi! I was 15 days late with my first and had to be induced.
Things weren’t really moving along fast enough after about 20ish hours so I went on the drip and requested an epidural. It was brilliant, I got some sleep and couldn’t feel the pain anymore.

I did have to have a forceps birth in the end as baby’s heart rate went a bit fast and she needed to come out but it was all good and not painful in any way.

Good luck, hope all goes well for you too.

Have you been offered a sweep? Worked straightaway for me with Ds1!

With DS2 I ran after toddler DS1 after he ran in front of the swings at the park... labour started that night Grin.

Sex will work too.,

Yes they tried to give me sweep but couldn’t reach the membrane 😣

Good luck! I was induced 9 days late for my biggest - 4.4kg. It went very smoothly and was much more positive than my other two - one spontaneous labour of a below-average sized baby and one elcs for breech baby.

I was induced at 41 weeks and I’m not going to lie I wish I’d of waited to see if I’d of gone into spontaneous labour. It’s just that I was due over Christmas and I got myself all in a tizz over it being Christmas Day for some reason, it seems so silly when I think back.

I ended up needing the drip and had an epidural for the pain - but I do wonder if I’d of needed the epidural if I’d of gone into spontaneous labour - I don’t know? But at the end of the day the epidural was a god send, it didn’t numb me completely and I could still feel the baby coming out but with none of the pain, sort of like when you have a tooth out and can feel them pulling but no pain. I felt like that nice warm fuzzy drunk feeling 😂.

Just do what your comfy with but listen to medical advice too and if baby’s getting distressed and needs to come out then so be it.

You can always push back your induction date to give yourself more time. Babies are considered 'term' up to 42 weeks so unless there's a medical reason there's no need to induce before then. Also things can change very quickly, my first was born at 41+6 (went into labour on the day they would have wanted to induce me)
Currently in early labour with second at 41+4.
Also, ignore the weight estimate. DD was predicted to be over 9lb at 41+6 but was 8lb on the nose. Anecdotally larger babies can actually be easier to birth as there's more the body to push against if you see what I mean.
The waiting is horrible I know, hang in there x
