21 weeks, reduced movement?

Should there be a pattern to baby's movements at this stage? With last DC I had anterior placenta so don't remember feeling many kicks at this stage and even when I did they were slight until later on.

I haven't felt baby move at all much today but I don't know if its still too early

Not usually a pattern until 24 weeks apparently. I’m a few weeks ahead of you and still wouldn’t say there’s a pattern yet. Definitely feeling her more this past week though!

@glasspaw I've been feeling him a lot before today so that's why I'm a bit unsure! But I don't want to ring maternity and waste anybody's time just to be told it's too early

there might be but not necessarily. So much space for baby to move into, a change of position for them can change when you feel movements

Never worry about that! That's why they are there! I would give them a ring, especially if you could feel the movement the days before.

What helped between 18-24 weeks was to lay down, make sure the room was quiet, put my hand to my tummy and concentrate. They say if you drink something sugary (like orange juice) it will help to make the baby move.

I had an anterior placenta but the midwife felt a kick when I was 16 weeks and she tried to listen to the heartbeat. I started to feel the kicks from 18 weeks every day (first baby).

It possible to feel the kicks this early and you should ring the maternity!

Up to 24 weeks to feel any movement, regular patterns not expected until 28 weeks so you have a while to go yet. It’s normal to have a few days where you don’t feel movement at all at your stage as baby is still so small. If you are ever worried you can definitely call your midwives although they may not ask you to come in until further along, but they can give reassurance.
