Measuring a week ahead, am I 11 or 12 weeks pregnant?

Hi guys,
I just went for a private scan when I should be 11+2 based on date of my miscarriage (I didn't have a period before getting pregnant again), but I measured 12+1!
Which is wonderful news in itself.
However, I'm just wondering whether my baby is just big for its 'age' or whether I should now consider myself 12 weeks+ ?

I want to wait to be 12 weeks before telling friends or family, since we miscarriage last time, but not sure if I still have another week to wait..

Any and all answers would be so helpful!

The risk of miscarriage doesn't suddenly drop past 12 weeks anymore than it does week to week up until 12 weeks, so worrying about being down to the day is pointless. If I were in your shoes, which I am of sorts (I gained 4 days at my scan last Monday), I'd just wait until the 12 weeks you thought you were waiting for. It being a few days beyond that really isn't life changing, you've only got a couple of days to wait still, it's not an additional month. Also, I'd personally wait until your NHS dating scan anyway if you've not had that, as that will be the official date that is used and when they'll confirm health etc, including testing for the trisomys if wanted.

Baby isn't going anywhere, patience is a virtue. I'm 14 weeks on Thursday and still waiting on some NIPT results so have not yet told anyone myself (miscarriage at 16 weeks last year so I'm not really feeling in a rush just in case). There is plenty of time x

Echoing what @Screwballs says, wait till the official NHS scan, they'll move your dates forward if baby is measuring bigger and that's the date everyone will ask about going forward so you might as well hang on for a few more days. We had a MC before this pregnancy too and then at our 12 weeks scan we didn't get the NT measurement due to babies position, so we needed to wait until 14 weeks until we had a quad test to rule out any issues. It just depends when you want to tell people

We told people around 13 weeks, even though I wanted to wait for our quad results, husband wanted to share the news, so we did. I got moved forward a week on the NHS 12 week scan due to babies size, he was measuring ahead right from the early scans!

Now he's 29 weeks and he's still measuring ahead even with the adjusted dates. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy 😁

Thanks both @Screwballs @suz2285 for your quick replies x
I understand what you're both saying.
Think I'm just wanting that reassurance that honestly no one can guarantee. But will wait for the NHS dating scan to know all is well beyond its size x

Wishing you both a healthy pregnancy as well xx
