Hi

So I'm 37 weeks pregnant and can't even see my feet so I needn't say anymore. My question is, what did you guys do before giving birth to tidy up? I'm thinking of booking in for a wax

I’ve switched to waxing since I can no longer see anything.

Im booked in for this week when I’ll be 32 weeks, then might do a final one at 37 weeks.

It lasts ages and I feel better for it. You don’t need to do it for birth specifically though - the midwives won’t care, I just normally remove hair so it feels a bit more ‘me’.

You don't need to do anything.

Midwives don't care whether you're hairy. They're not assessing you as a potential sexual partner or model or whatever, they're helping to bring a baby out of you. There will be copious quantities of bodily fluid, a bit of hair is neither here nor there.

Waxing will also damage your skin surface and make you more susceptible to infection, ingrown hairs and cysts etc.

I don't get why women feel the need to rip their pubes out at the best of times, but around birth seems especially bonkers.

@fearfuloffluff ha I do agree with you! My mums a midwife and basically said the same. Obviously I'm not going full on pornstar look, but I feel I'd be more comfortable a bit tidier that's all. I say this, but once I'm in labour ( my first time ) I won't give a shit about all that lol

Before both of mine I had a Hollywood at 37 weeks.

@Mushroo yes I'm the same! I usually have a tidy up but lately been so hectic and now I'm settling down I'm like, hmm maybe I should get this sortedGrin

I’ve been carrying on with my waxes during my pregnancy but my waxing girl said we’ll need to plan the last one before the birth because she can’t do it too close to delivery in case of infections. I think any good waxer will keep you right time wise.

I know it’s personal preference but it just feels so much nicer to have it all tidy just now!

bronzedproseccolover · 31/10/2023 15:12

@SarahBowie yeah 100 percent, I agree. I don't want it all off anyway I just need a tidy up Blush. I'm not looking to do an Edward scissorhands job on myself!
