Second trimester 24 week mood dip

I have a history of anxiety and low mood, which was generally linked to my monthly cycle. I have felt amazing since conceiving, mood wise. However since the weekend I’ve just felt so…sad. And worrying about small things. Also had a huge acne breakout on my chin. It’s making me think it’s hormonal, but I can’t find anything about late second trimester mood dips. Has anyone experienced this?

I'm currently experiencing this too (24 weeks also). Sorry you're feeling this way as well 😔 no advice I'm afraid, just wanted to let you know you're not alone.

I've put mine down to being hormonal. I felt amazing at this point in my last pregnancy but I feel like in this one it's just been one thing after another. I too also have a history of anxiety, not so much low mood normally, but I've been feeling quite emotional and down the last week or so. I'm just trying to take it easy, get as much sleep as possible so plenty of early nights and get outside with my toddler for fresh air daily. Fingers crossed it will pass for us both🤞 x

Hi @redxlondon , I had this in both my pregnancies, currently 28 weeks. It started a little earlier than you, about 21 weeks, and I felt really down for 3 weeks ish. It did lift and I feel back to normal, well pregnancy normal anyway.

Please be kind to yourself, put things off if they are not urgent and get some treats in. Hopefully it will pass too but if it doesn't let your midwife know and get some support.
Sending hugs

Thank you both xx

Thanks for posting this @redxlondon - it's always a reassurance to find someone who feels the same.

I'm 25 weeks tomorrow and have had a dip for the past couple of weeks. Plenty of anxiety and I've been very sensitive and wanting to hide, particularly from work. I think it's now easing. Hope it does for you too.
