Faint positive today but nervous after miscarriage

Hi folks,

I'm 37, no children and had an early miscarriage in September. I've got a faint positive today at 11dpo and am feeling sooo many things, not least kicking myself for testing so early (as if I could restrain myself 😅) and scared of losing this one too. Anyone in the same boat? All reassurance/solidarity welcome!

Aww try not to worry I has a missed miscarriage before I feel pregnant with my little girl who is 14 months now. It was a really worrying time being pregnant again. Every Sunday I would think to myself 'I've made it to the end of the week, and baby is cooking away nicely in there'

Aw, I'm so happy you got your little one 😊 Thank you for your kind words. I get so fixated that each day feels like a year, but hopefully that will get easier with time x

I had a MC and a chemical pregnancy before having a healthy pregnancy, she’s just turned one now. I remember the feelings well though. I googled everything. I found out that although miscarriages are very common multiple miscarriages are less common so I tried to tell myself ‘right I’ve had my bad luck this one will stick. It is so hard to think about anything else. My best advice is to stay busy. Clean the house, go a walk, anything to keep busy! Good luck

Congratulations on your new pregnancy @Toolatetoowait ! The early days and weeks of a pregnancy after loss can be really hard going for all sorts of reasons. I had a MMC at 36 before my successful pregnancy with DS who is nearly 2. With DS pregnancy I found it very difficult until I'd passed 12 weeks. I'm now 6 weeks pregnant again after early MC a couple of cycles ago, this time at 39. I find I'm kindest to myself if I just take it a day at a time and have been telling myself "I feel positive about this pregnancy" whilst I know I can't change the outcome. We've also booked an early scan when I'll be 7+2 so we can find out how things are progressing, knowing that's coming gives me something to aim for. Wishing you all the luck OP.

Hello @Toolatetoowait.
I think we are in similar situations- i also had a miscarriage in september at around 4-5 weeks. Bled at 6 weeks and then started to test negative on pregnancy tests.

I have been doing ovulation tests and got my peak nearly 2 weeks ago now. 12 days to be exact haha.

I did a clearblue early detection today at what would be 10dpo and that was positive.

However- i am also worried about another miscarriage and obsessed with testing which i am well aware is not good.

Thank you for your kind words @Bumble84 @Bumblesbee84 🤗

@tlw14 wow, the similarities are uncanny! it's so hard not to obsess isn't it? I keep giving myself little milestones. Period is due tomorrow, then on 9th November I'll have been pregnant longer than last time, then will go for early scan etc. Sending lots of solidarity and hoping for the best for you. Will this be your first too?

@Toolatetoowait
Sending loads of positive vibes your way! This will be my second, my little boy has just turned one.
My period is due Wednesday so going to test again then, same as you i am going to book in for an early scan. I figured i will be four weeks tomorrow so will probably book it in for two weeks time so i can sure i am six weeks pregnant and hopefully see a little reassuring heart beat

Toolatetoowait · 02/11/2023 10:34

How are you getting on @tlw14?

@Toolatetoowait I have got my positive i think!
I have tested on CB and that says 1-2 weeks. Faint line on normal pink dye test..

Hard to get excited though at the moment as just so so nervous about having another miscarriage.

How are you doing??

Faint positive today but nervous after miscarriage
Toolatetoowait · 02/11/2023 10:51

Awww, congratulations @tlw14!! Looks like a definite, clear line to me!

I've made the mistake of testing a few times and, although I got a 1-2 weeks on a clear blue yesterday, I'm also getting very faint lines that aren't progressing on pink dye tests so not feeling super hopeful anymore.

It's such a weird mixture of emotions isn't it

@Toolatetoowait I know the feeling, i think after a miscarriage you are kind of trained to watch lines in future..
I remember with my miscarriage my doctor always said to me to watch the lines and if they decrease i am miscarrying. I think this has embedded that into my head and now i think i have to have lines progressing or its bad news.

This is the first pink dye test i have done where i have had a line. I think i will do another one in a few days.

Like you, i got 1-2 weeks on CB and i just don't feel my line is dark enough... i don't know. Going to do another CB on Sunday and hopefully i should of gone to 2-3 weeks then as i will be coming upto 5 weeks pregnant. I don't want to be disappointed though and worry if it still says 1-2 weeks.. such a minefield

Toolatetoowait · 02/11/2023 10:59

Doctors can be so unhelpful eh. The reality is that everyone is different and we can't really know until we bleed/there's a bubba in our arms but God it's hard to just sit in the uncertainty! Fwiw, I think your line looks good but I really do understand the caution. Best of luck to you 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
