Reassuring stories of brown spotting? 14w pregnant

Hi all, im 14 weeks pregnant. The day of my 12week scan (12w3) i woke up to a Medium size bleed of red blood. Had a scan all was fine, wore a pad for a few days nothing at all filled up. However, from the day of the bleed I carried on having brown spotting, old blood style not heavy enough to fill a pad or pants, only when I wipe after a pee( sorry TMI). I had another scan at 13w to check the spotting. No sign of bleeding, baby was fine. Anyway, nearly two weeks later I’m still having the spotting. I’m going to speak to my midwife on tues as have an appointment, EPU said if it went on for 2 weeks she would need to refer me for a cervix check.

Im naturally worried but trying to be positive since I’ve had 2 scans all fine , no cause of bleeding shown. No pain or heavier bleeding. I’m not sure of it could be thrush or potentially just random bleeding.

Just hoping to hear some stories with happy endings to try reassure myselfSmileHalo

I had on off bleeding during first trimester which settled into brown on off spotting like you've described. At the end of the day it was put down to a low lying placenta which was partially covering the cervix and irritating it as the placenta grew. I'm now 25w and by my 20 week scan the placenta had moved back and away from the cervix and bleeding had stopped.

I don't suppose they told you where your placenta has formed at your scan did they?

I had a few bleeds (red and brown blood) in my first trimester, including one on the morning of my 12 week scan! I had a cervical exam and it was put down to cervical erosion - which is harmless to baby, just sensitive cervical cells. I’m 26 weeks now and haven’t bled since then.

@LavenderSweetPea Thanks for this! They said it had formed at the front but didn’t mention it was low lying. Glad to hear your spotting calmed down☺️

@Wintermum01 thankyou. I am seeing my midwife on Tuesday so will ask for the cervix check as it is 2 weeks. I have a feeling it is to do with the cervix- no idea why though as it is my first pregnancy!☺️
