Don't want to depress but I never felt exactly energetic - just marginally less wiped out for a couple of weeks before I succumbed to the sheer exhaustion caused by being the size of Jupiter.

PregnantPenguin · 09/03/2008 19:43

I'm nearing the end of my second trimester and I'm still waiting!

Actually I got more energy a couple of weeks in and things did get better - hope they do for you.

candyy · 09/03/2008 19:48

Just how i felt too until i started taking iron tablets. Has your doctor been giving you blood tests?

tassisssss · 09/03/2008 19:51

Same at PregnantPenguin - I'm about 26 weeks and still waiting!

duvetheaven · 09/03/2008 19:55

Ha ha! Yes, I thought that may be the case. I still need my 10 hours of sleep per night. Before I got pregnant I was fine on 7 hours.
Not sure about the iron. I may be low as haven't been able to keep down the Pregnacare tablets. Keep meaning to buy Spatone.

at about 20 weeks I started feeling a lot better

tbh I felt knackered a lot of the time before I got pg so don't expect miracles
but I feel more able to tackle projects and attempt more energetic things

I just have to fall over and lie on sofa a lot afterwards

debinaustria · 09/03/2008 19:58

My dh is asking me the same question and I am nearing the 3rd Trimester. I am marginally better, I don't need an afternoon sleep every day!

tassisssss · 09/03/2008 19:58

yes, do buy spatone, wonderful stuff

(still feel exhausted though!)

Kaz1967 · 09/03/2008 21:15

I am 21 weeks and I feel better than I did in the first 14 or so but still to tired I am having an afternoon nap most days can't blame my HP either it's 13 which is pretty good (no make that very good)

dizzydixies · 09/03/2008 21:16

ah duvetheaven when are you due?

whomovedmychocolate · 09/03/2008 21:17

I'm still waiting for the blooming bit from my first pregnancy!

To quote someone more erudite than me - I don't bloom, I fester.

dizzydixies · 09/03/2008 21:24

whomoved am not a bloomer either and sodding Angeline jolie keeps getting pg at the same time as me - wench

whomovedmychocolate · 09/03/2008 21:36

My ankles are certainly blooming - well at least they look like bloomers

dizzydixies · 09/03/2008 21:37

lol

dh just commented on my 'baked potato' feet [humph]

PregnantPenguin · 10/03/2008 18:01

You guys can still see you ankles?

Like the Angelina comment dizzydixies - I have recently been moaning about all the AJ pictures everywhere. Does that woman ever look bad...? Rah!

Was talking to a friend yesterday about how large Milla Jovovich (spelling) got when she was pregant. Went on google to show her some pictures and now that I'm so much bigger, think MJ looked pretty good as well. Feels like I'm getting to the size she was at 8 months (when everyone made the comments about her) now, and I'm only 6 months.

artichokes · 10/03/2008 18:05

oh yes, the mythical 2nd trimester energetic phase
mine was a little delayed
it hit about the time DD was 7 months old and stared sleeping through the night

duvetheaven · 10/03/2008 18:56

Sorry bout delay. dizzydixies I due first week of September
I won't hold my breath for the energetic phase then!!

Kaz1967 · 10/03/2008 19:12

duvetheaven some people get it my SiL is only 2 years younger than me and was really shattered in the first 12 weeks but then really did bloom , she was jetting all over the world for her job literally until she dropped at 36 weeks came home from a meeting and her waters broke.

vicsta · 10/03/2008 19:34

You mean there's an energetic faze???

vicsta · 10/03/2008 19:35

Sorry - phase - though I think my poor spelling sums it up

Kaz1967 · 10/03/2008 19:43

Well SiL appeared to get one the night she gave birth to J she was still raring to go and looking forward to a business meeting the following day. They had to do without her mind LOL Even she could not cope with birth and a meeting though. It's not been all plain sailing though she really struggled post delivery and is really looking forward to my Brother taking over and her going back to work end of this month. mind Brov is really really looking forward to being a stay at home Dad
