Hematoma/haemorrhage in pregnancy. How long did bleeding last?

Hi everyone, just after some reassurance and others experiences.
I am currently nearing 11 weeks pregnant and have been diagnosed with a hematoma/haemorrhage. I have been on and off bleeding now for 5/6 weeks and it’s beginning to get me down.
I had a miscarriage earlier in the year and have spent the majority of this pregnancy so far petrified and anxious.

Im also aware that I’m not quite ‘in’ the safe zone yet either as my 12 week scan isn’t for another week and a half.
I have had 2 private scans and numerous EPU visits which have helped knowing baby is ok but the minute the bleeding picks back up, I’m worrying again something is going to go wrong.
I would really appreciate any advice or to hear how long others bleeding lasted for etc please as it definitely feels like a lonely place.
Thank you in advance x

I had a hematoma - they saw it at 12 week scan but no one told me... I had a big bleed at 13 weeks that lasted a day then another small bleed at 15 weeks that lasted a few days . It had gone by my 20 week scan and now I'm 30 weeks with a healthy little bean. I hope your pregnancy goes okay ❤️

Hello,
@WooYa @Spears979
I am also bleeding, was light for the past few days but today there are clots.
@WooYa did your bleed have clots in it?

Hi there, it's so hard isn't it. I've been bleeding for many weeks and the bleeding has occasionally had clots in. The odd day I'd have a heavier bleed more like a period with some clots (ranging from small to the size of a 2p coin roughly) and then the bleeding would ease for a few days/week.

My first one had none and then my second one had some clots in - it was the hematoma coming away. The many midwives I spoke to reassured me that it's really common and it will either be absorbed or come away like mine did. If you're worried at all then give triage a call. I think I called them daily for the second bleed and they reassured me each time and got me to come in for a check up twice just to make sure baby was OK.

Thank you so much for your reply. At the moment the bleeding is very minimal and more like extremely light spotting so I'm really hoping baby is ok at the next scan and that the hematoma has got smaller/nearly on its way out - although I'm sure the worry won't go away! I'm so pleased for you that you've continued to have a healthy pregnancy! Wishing you all the best 😍

The worry won't go away but I hope everything goes okay for you ❤️ Make sure you take it easy and get in touch with the midwife if you need too.

Had one in my second pregnancy, heavy bleed at 13 weeks then it stopped at 18 weeks. Hematoma was 6cm x

I had a one with my twins. A huge bleed with clots just before the 12 week scan, they could see it on one of the scans. I remember then having brown spotting for weeks after that.

Anyway they are 16 now.
