Just wondered if others can give their own experiences with movements in general
or around 36-37 weeks pregnancy how much do you feel baby move throughout day? Is it alot, do they go quiet for a short time during day or for example a couple hours or do they none stop move? Do you kick count or don’t because it’s not recommended now? What if you don’t feel the baby at around the same time one day what do you think? I’m just curious people experiences and also would you say late on in pregnancy 36/37 weeks and beyond do you find the movement changes or the kind of movements change?

Hi, with my baby he had a pattern when he would move about. If I noticed that he wasn't moving as much then I'd call the hospital and they'd ask me to go in and they'd hook my bump up to the monitor to check he's ok.

I had a few episodes of reduced movements, especially towards the end of my pregnancy. To the point where they induced me early at 38 + 5. It's he kept going sleepy on the monitor and they asked me to move in to different positions to wake him up. When he was born he had his cord around his neck and tangled round his body. I'm not sure if that was why I had reduced movements.

I didn't use a kick counter and I learnt his patterns of movements but everyone does it differently.

I'm 37 weeks with dc4 and mine have all been more active in the late afternoon and evening so I tend to keep an eye on how much wiggling is going on later in the day. Mornings are very quiet unless I give a hard poke. I've never really kick counted, just tried to be aware of the patterns.

I do find some days I'm so busy rushing around with the kids, dog walks and work that I haven't really been able to sit and pay attention to movements. That always gives me a bit of a panic and guilt!

My DD never had a pattern. But she would move around very regularly, I never timed or counted but i suppose if I hadn’t felt her for 1-2 hours that would be unusual

My baby had reliable stimuli rather than a pattern - and since my habits changed, his did too.

I also found that he could wear himself out - be very active one day and then essentially be tired.

I'm about 38 weeks now and have been very conscious of movements and worried if they seem a bit slow.

I always feel a few kicks in the morning but during the day I'm generally busy/walking about/working that I don't really notice unless I get a big kick.

Once I sit down in the late afternoon, then I pay attention and I'll usually feel about 10-15 movements within half an hour.

Baby always seems pretty active in the evening and especially after dinner.

As I'm falling asleep I can always count at least 10 kicks within half an hour.

I wasn't aware kick counting was frowned upon now? I do have a kick counter app thing and use it sometimes if I fell baby has been quiet.

Oh and like PP, baby seems to have active days and quieter days.
