Mild Cystocele prolapse 20 weeks pregnant

2nd pregnancy after 1st resulted in episiotomy, 5 months of healing.

Has anyone with prolapse gone on to have their baby vaginally without any complications after?

My consultant has said it’s safe but my midwife suggested a c-section due to first birth and now prolapse, to avoid making the area “worse”.

I have a grade 2 prolapse (back and front) and have been told there's no issue giving birth vaginally. I've had 2 straightforward vaginal deliveries already.

I'd speak to the doctor again but try not to worry x

Thank you so much @Anyflippingname.
That’s so reassuring. I’m terrified giving birth will make it stay or even worse but the thought of having the recovery after a c-section is putting me off x

Hi,

Jumping into this - I am 4 weeks pregnant with my 4th, my other 3 were vaginal deliveries. Got diagnosed with a mild prolapse in the summer and referred to physiology who just said to pelvic floor but I'm worried it'll get worse during pregnancy and how my body will manage xx

Hi,

I can’t speak for having a 4th child as this is only my 2nd, I’m now 22weeks but I’ve now seen 2 gynaecologists/consultants of whom have told me vaginal delivery won’t make it any worse and neither will pregnancy. That said, mine is apparently pregnancy related.

I’ve literally been doing my pelvic floor exercises (using the NHS Squeezy app) 6x a day and besides if I sneeze, cough or squat, I can’t tell it’s there.

Sorry this hasn’t been much help but wanted to let you know what I’ve been told :) hopefully yours doesn’t worsen and you can have a comfortable pregnancy & birth xx
