Hello!

Ordered some raspberry leaf tablets as I was recommended them and told the tea tastes like shite. I'm 36 weeks pregnant. Anyone take these and have a positive experience? X

Following - because I have the tea and it’s not great. Mind you, going to try brewing the tea then letting it cool and adding it with frozen berries to a smoothie as that was suggested to me that it hides the tea! Would also like to know what opinions people have on the tablets

The tea was quite nice BUT if you have blood pressure or diabetes issues DO NOT TAKE as linked to issues. I started the tea not realising and it whacked my (medicated) blood pressure out

That sounds like a good idea! My mums a midwife and told me to get onto these as she took them. Just like knowing other peoples experiences

Oh no, nothing major I hope. Blood pressure seems fine atm but will definitely keep an eye out for this

I like the tea but I’m on my third baby so maybe used to it by now. I do a mix of tea and tablets though. I start from 32 weeks with 1 a day, 34 weeks 2 a day, 36 weeks 3 a day and 38 weeks 4 a day. Don’t take more than 4 a day and make sure you build up gradually or it can cause strong Braxton-Hicks. If you do find the braxton hicks are too strong reduce the dose for a while.

some people mistake them for starting labour but they don’t, they work by toning the uterus to make contractions stronger so labour is shorter. I would recommend them, my first labour was 6.5 hours, second was 3.5 hours. Obviously I don’t know if it was the raspberry leaf that made it short but anything that might make labour shorter is worth a try.

Thanks. My LO is 10 months now but I had EMCS due to the blood pressure later on. People recommended raspberry leaf but no one mentioned the problems with bp or diabetes so I thought it was worth mentioning!
