I haven’t been pregnant when covid has been around. I’m panicking. My DH and DC have COVID.
Anything I need to do differently as I’m pregnant? High risk pregnancy as it is. I’m terrified!

As suggested I would speak to midwife, but if it helps to hear, I actually caught covid in my pregnancy. My only symptoms were loss of taste and smell. I contacted my midwife who advised that unless my symptoms were or became severe, and as long as baby was moving as normal then not to worry and ride it out like regular flu. I did and nothing else came of it, a few days later and my taste and smell returned. I was booked in for a scan to check baby’s growth hadn’t been affected (as apparently still doing since height of covid) but all seemed okay
As you haven’t got yet, I guess the main advice would be to just isolate from them as much as possible to minimise risk of catching

I haven’t had the covid vaccine or any boosters etc, for any who may be wondering who also haven’t and see this thread in future

Not sure what the answer is, but in the same boat! I seem to remember talk about blood thinners if you get covid in pregnancy, but will double check with midwife if (/when) I inevitably catch it.

Was vaccinated when it was first a 'thing' but doubt that means a lot any more - not had a booster as no idea if I'm eligible or not (midwife didn't have a clue either)

I found out I had covid during labour! Marvellous timing. All is fine with baby

My husband caught COVID about 2 weeks ago when I was 34 weeks. He isolated in our bedroom with ensuite the whole time he was positive.

Myself and 3 year old didn't get it thankfully though harder for you if child has it. I also slept on the sofa for a week as we have just had 3rd bedroom done for baby. Not ideal but it is possible not to catch it if you can distance yourself, practice good hand hygiene etc.

I was booked in for my booster that week which they said I could still have if I negative, I was so went for that not sure if that made a difference.

I do know a few people who have had it in pregnancy and all was ok x

The advice now is treat like a cold. Rest, fluids and paracetamol. No need to isolate or anything like that. If you have difficulty breathing, chest pains etc get medical treatment and if worried call midwives but otherwise just treat as you normally would. No need to test or anything either
