Has anyone ever taken lansoprazole whilst pregnant?

Omeprazole seems to be given to pregnant women rather than lansoprazole in my experience but I have no idea if there's a reason for that. Can you speak to your GP to check?

I was taking esomeprazole and stopped when I got my BFP I think they are mostly regarded as safe but Omeprazole has more data around it been taken in pregnancy. Should really speak to your GP I'm living on gaviscon right now

There's a lack of evidence surrounding the use of lansoprazole in pregnancy hence it's less used.
Omeprazole is used at times but this is hugely dependent on severity of symptoms and should only be used when all other options have been exhausted.
There should be a discussion with your clinician surrounding potential risks and benefits before a decision is made :)

Some other options include lifestyle changes (less spicy food, less fatty food/fruit juices, can try raising the head of the bed etx) and gaviscon.

I was prescribed Gaviscon during pregnancy which did the trick.

Can you ask your doctor or practice nurse?
