Hi everyone, I'm 4 weeks pregnant (so only just found out)we'd been ttc for 20 months and had all the fertility tests done etc, thought my age was stopping us (I'm 36) anyway I'm absolutely delighted to find I'm pregnant but very cautious and worried that I may miscarry in the first 12 weeks. I took one capsule of a herb called feverfew yesterday and one this morning THEN... I found out they are not recommended in pregnancy as they can cause spontaneous abortions. I am beside myself with worry now , have i caused myself to miscarry already when i want this so much ? Has anyone ever done this and gone on to have a successful pregnancy.
P.s feverfew is for migraines, I suffer bad headaches and have had a constant one for past 4 days. i took Feverfew because it's herbal so i thought it was safe ! So did the woman i asked in the health food shop !

Regards...

Not a doctor, but I do know someone who tried all the herbal abortificants she could - her daughter is now 17.

Hopefully someone will come along with medical advice soon, but I suspect you will be fine.

Not sure I got the right word there, but you know what I mean...

I've learnt to use quite afew herbs but by no means trained.I imagine a one off of feverfew isn't going to affect a healthy preganancy-it's not such strong herb like valerium for ex.Obviously stay away from it now though-the only really "safe" preg. herbs are chamomille, nettle(full of iron and minerals),lemonbalm(excellent for morning sickness). Also with having taken tabs rather then fresh herbs I'd think the fevergew was fairly diluted anyway! If still worried then look up a medical herbalist and they'll be able to tell you the score.Sorry if I can't help any more!

There is nothing you can do about it now. Worry can also cause miscarrages - stop worrying!!

Congratulations BT?W

How did it all turn out? I'm in a similar situation now.
