Just a post to hopefully bring some positive reassurance to people who may be worried!

I went for a private scan yesterday at 8+5 as my symptoms had reduced over the last week and a half (my boobs were no longer sore at all, barely any spots, not much discharge). This is how my missed miscarriage started (though I lost all symptoms then). I was really panicked and had a feeling that something was wrong. When I researched everything said that a gut feeling was a bad sign, as were loss of symptoms. On top of this, I’ve been spotting for weeks now after two heavy bleeds at 6 weeks just after hearing the heartbeat, but this had included small brown clots over the last week.

I went into the ultrasound trying to prepare myself for the worst, but it was absolutely fine! Baby was measuring an average of 8w,3d with a clear heartbeat! The bleeding is still coming from the other side of my uterus (she said it’s sepate instead of bicornuate as previously thought), and is nowhere near the baby and everything was fine despite symptoms dipping!

She said 2 days behind in measurements was absolutely fine as anything 5 days either side is considered normal.

I just wanted to post this as I feel the positive outcomes are rarely mentioned as people often forget to update when it’s good news!

Always get any worries checked out, but please be aware that it may be fine!!

Scan pictures show how much our bubba has grown from 6+3 to 6+5 to 8+5!

I read your original post, so glad everything is ok, it’s so nice to see a positive update. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy.

Congratulations. Loss of symptoms is incredibly common, as is no symptoms and symptoms coming and going so whoever told you loss of symptoms is a bad sign was just being ridiculous. I’m sorry you had that worry.

Well the issue is that it's on a lot of medical websites! But it's because loss of symptoms can be a sign especially if they vanish all at once and it was my first symptom in my missed miscarriage! But yes - I think it needs to be acknowledged more that it can also be completely normal! X

That’s great news!

I remember the sheer panic when my symptoms disappeared at about 7/8 weeks. That pregnancy is now a feral but gorgeous 3yo DD.

🤞 for a healthy pregnancy for you.
