Antisickness medication?

Hi all. What's the chances of me being prescribed antisickness pills if I'm not throwing up. I'm 8 weeks, and I've only really thrown up twice. But I'm overwhelmingly nauseous from morning till night, and it's really affecting my well-being. I feel like I can't do anything. Even speaking makes me gag. I work on a reception desk as well so work has been really difficult. I just want this nausea to end. It's so so so horrible. I literally dread every single day because I feel like I don't get a break from it. Sorry, I know so many people have it so much worse and can't keep anything down, I'm just really struggling.

Hi op, I really feel for you, the nausea can be debilitating. I'm sure if you ask your GP, there would be something they could prescribe. You have NVP (nausea vomiting during pregnancy) and whilst it's not on par with HG, it can still be awful. I had NVP, I was vomiting every day but it was the nausea that was a killer. Just ask, I got prescribed promethazine first pregnancy and stematil second, I was much worse second pregnancy but asked for something different as the promethazine made me really sleepy so I couldn't have it whilst working. The stematil didn't make me as drowsy. It will hopefully subside from 20 weeks. With my first I felt better from around 15 weeks. Also you can try some natural remedies, travel wrist bands, ginger etc. I didn't find any of these particularly useful but some people get relief with them. Hope you feel better soon.

You should call the doctor I had nausea from 6 weeks and rang them just to enquire and they prescribed me promethazine - took them until 16 weeks xx

Thank you both! I'm ringing the gp tomorrow. Did they help at all? I have tried all the natural remedies and nothing touches it. Its so miserable. I want to exercise and help out in the house but I literally lie still on the sofa all day!

I’ve had awful nausea from 4+2 - constant and awful wretching and gagging but no vomiting. I was prescribed Cyclizine and it’s been so good!

Oh glad to hear it's worked. Yeah I've been gagging so much. Throwing up stomach bile. But keeping meals down. Well fingers crossed the doctors will prescribe me something tomorrow!

Yes just call the GP and say what you've said here.

My problem was the cicylyzine made me really sleepy (I think) and I was already v tired. So I took it in the evening generally.
Good luck

I was prescribed Promethazine for severe nausea (but very little vomiting) from 7-19 weeks. It wasn't amazingly effective but did take the edge off

Thank you all for your replies. I've thrown up but only twice since yesterday. My lovely gp prescribed me Cyclizine for 3 times a day. Hoping this does the trick!! Uh isn't it difficult.
