Maternity and nursing pyjamas

Any recommendations for pyjama sets that are nursing friendly-pyjamas need to be high waisted and loose as I’m likely to need a C section, should be breast-feeding friendly and should be budget ? Will wear off old nighties in hospital for couple of days after C-section so this would be for the period after. Also, how do I figure out what size I will need then ?

Oo following because I want to buy some for my lovely DIL...

InTheRainOnATrain · 21/10/2023 17:42

Something with a buttoned top. Go a size up so they’re not too tight. I just got some from Victoria’s Secret and wore them in hospital too- I stayed in the gown until the catheter came out 4 hours ish later then put my PJs on!

I had a nice (pricey) set from Seraphine for DD1 - have put another pair on my Christmas list for this time around!

The bamboo Seraphine ones are the best ever.

Another vote for Seraphine. They've got some on sale at the moment (with an extra 10% off). Really nice stuff, although not cheap.

For a more budget option I’ve been using normal pj bottoms (1 size up first) and pairing with a breast feeding comfy t-shirt

Allaboard209 · 21/10/2023 19:23

I've just sized up normal PJ to stay in budget

RidingMyBike · 21/10/2023 19:27

DH got me some lovely ones from John Lewis - not budget but I've since worn them for years as they weren't specifically for maternity or breastfeeding. They have a button style top which made access easy.

Wishiwasatailor · 21/10/2023 19:31

Bravissimo has a great nursing nightie if you have bigger boobs.

chloe1991thomas · 21/10/2023 19:33

I'm living in Chelsea Peers button down pyjamas right now. They're generously sized and finding normal size ok even post section

I've recently bought these from John lewis and they're super comfy. I'm a year post partum but still feeding and this is stretchy enough to just pull down. I wear little like crop top bras from M&S underneath and just pull that down too. The other thing I wear are long sleeve Henley style tops from marks with poppers down the front.

Flittingaboutagain · 21/10/2023 19:37

I love my Seraphine ones too.

Flittingaboutagain · 21/10/2023 19:38

Stylish Mum and Juno Jacks have lots of nice cosy stuff at the moment.

bettynutkins · 21/10/2023 19:42

Seraphine here too. I was gifted them and still absolutely love them. Used them through a 2nd pregnancy/post partum as well and still use them now. Pricey but worth it.

Houseplanter · 21/10/2023 20:25

The seraphine size guide is medium 10-12 and large 14-16. As I need a 12-14 which would you go for?

(I'd much prefer not to buy a large if possible)

I am a small size 12 and bought large. V comfy. You definitely don't want them too tight!

amyg1985 · 21/10/2023 21:07

I'm a 14-16 and bought a large. I found the sizing quite generous. I'm bigger on the top without much of a butt/hips though so might depend on your shape.

Tabby321 · 21/10/2023 21:17

Oh ! I tried ordering some maternity clothes from seraphine a while ago in my usual size-fit me like a sack ! So a bit apprehensive about ordering clothes that won’t fit again…

Are they likely to sit high enough above a c section scar ?

Chelsea Peers NYC do maternity pjs, button shirt so BF friendly - they are very roomy and high-waisted, I sized up because I gained a ridiculous amount of weight last pregnancy and they were still enormous 😅 (but v comfy): chelseapeersnyc.com/collections/maternity?page=1

SomeMonstersEatTelly · 21/10/2023 21:42

I got brilliant pyjama bottoms from La Redoute’s maternity section - very high waist and didn’t bother my c-section scar at all. Not expensive either.

Biscuitsplease · 21/10/2023 21:58

A friend bought me these when I had given birth and I have lived in them for the last 6 months. Can't recommend them enough
