Hi all,
I'm currently 21 weeks pregnant and during my 20 week scan they found an issue with babies heart, after a scan with fetal medicine yesterday he has been diagnosed with coarctation of the aorta.
Although it can't be 100% confirmed yet it's highly likely he will need surgery very soon after birth.
I'm wondering if anyone has any advice or if anyone has been through this personally?
Thanks in advance!

Hi, you should check out the antenatal tests board as there is a recent thread regarding this on there. It is good that this has been found during the pregnancy (even though it might not feel like it) as a plan can be made for after the birth. I hope you are okay. I know it is scary (my baby has had heart surgery but for a different reason). Sending you very best wishes x

Hello,

I am so sorry and hope you are okay. I am in the same boat as you unfortunately- I have been referred to Great Ormond Street to get a diagnosis. They are unsure if the aorta is small or the pulmonary artery is large. I find out tomorrow- what indicated coarctation of the aorta? x
