Hey all, does anyone have any experience with this? I had PROM at 32 weeks in my first pregnancy and baby was delivered by emcs at 34 weeks.
I’m now 5 weeks pregnant with my second and wondering what are the chances of it happening again? Would love to hear from anyone who has had PROM previously and gone on to have another baby!

Depends on the reason - if it's your cervix then you're at higher risk. You should be monitored by the pre-term team throughout, have regular cervical scans and possibly be proscribed progesterone. Talk to your midwife.

@GingerKombucha I wasn’t given a reason. They said it could have been because I had too much amniotic fluid to begin with but pretty much just said it was one of those things 🤷🏻‍♀️I don’t think it was my cervix as nothing was mentioned.
I have my first midwife app on 31st Oct. I was just hoping to hear of peoples experiences after PPROM.

I PRROM'd at 28 weeks last time and gave birth a week later but had an known issue with my cervix so had an abdominal stitch before getting pregnant - now 23 weeks and hoping to make it to term. Push to see the preterm team and consultant early on to discuss risks and monitoring.

@GingerKombucha Thank you for the advice. I will. 28 weeks sounds frightening! Wishing you all the best with this pregnancy!

Hi, my eldest daughter was born at 34 weeks after PPROM at 33 weeks. No reason was ever identified.

in my second pregnancy I was under the care of the pre term team so had regular scans, cervix checks and tests for infection.

we got to full term and my youngest daughter was born on her due date! Good luck 😊
