Retained placenta

I had an amazing homebirth in May this year , everything went well was only in labour for 4 hours but my placenta didn't come away so I ended up needing to go into hospital for manual removal . I'm now 8 weeks pregnant and hoping for another homebirth , just worried about my placenta not coming away again. Has anyone had a retained placenta and gone on to have more babies where it does come away naturally?

Yes I have. My first was retained and second was absolutely fine. I did ask about the risk of it happening again and I don't think it really heightens the risk particularly (from what I can remember). Have you checked that you would be considered low risk still though?

Oh that's good to know , no I haven't asked I've not seen a midwife yet just had my booking bloods done.
