Pregnancy Stretch Marks

Hey I'm 35 weeks pregnant this week and my stretch marks have slowly built up and now I have quite a lot of stretch marks, it doesn't bother me in the slightest I wasn't ever one for crop tops or bikinis pre pregnancy anyways lol

But I did notice at the bottom of my belly going up towards my belly button I have a few stretch marks that are raised, like quite big stretch marks I can't see them unless I'm looking in a mirror (baby bump in the way lol) but they feel huge, I don't mean slightly raised either like my stomach feels bumpy if I rub my hand over them, is this normal? When I've tried to google about it, it just comes up with some inflammatory disease stuff, my stretch marks aren't itchy and they don't look abnormal otherwise but just these few raised weird ones? Is this normal? I've never heard of stretch marks being like this, kinda seems almost like a scar 🤔

I would ask your obgyn next time you see them. At 35 weeks it's once a week, right? I think they would be able to tell you since they will be able to assess in person.

Hopefully it's not anything to worry about.

It sounds like it’s totally normal but you can check with your midwife at your next appointment. They may feel itchy or sore so it can be soothing to put a moisturiser on them, doesn’t have to be fancy.

@VixFromThe6ix this is a uk based forum, we generally only see a midwife every two weeks from 30 weeks until due date unless a high risk pregnancy then it can be a consultant.

Just in case anyone comes back to read this thread, the raised scar looking stretch marks actually ended up being swelling as I had developed preeclampsia, so if you have these raised bumpy stretch marks at the bottom of your belly they may be normal but please check with your midwife just in case ❤️
