Fetal heart rate below 140 but sounds like a horse - girl or boy? *Just for fun

Today at our 25 week midwife appointment baby’s heartbeat sounded like a galloping horse (which I’ve heard said is typical of girls, whilst boys sound like trains) but the speed was 136 (I’ve heard the theory that boys are usually under 140 and girls are over). This was down from 148 at the previous appointment. Just wondered if anyone else had had a heartbeat that sounds like a horse but is under 140, or sounds like a train but is over 140, and did it turn out to be a girl or boy?

Just for fun as we’ve chosen not to find out for this baby (we have 2 boys so far) but it’s interesting seeing which of the theories people reckon might be true!

Heartbeat one definitely isn’t true. If it was I’d have 2 boys and a girl. Definitely all girls

Every old wives tale said I was having a girl ... including a heart rate of 150 at 16 weeks (I've since had heart rates between 129 and 155 bpm depending on whether asleep/waking up/having a rave). Sounds like a galloping horse. 5 scans have shown I'm having a boy though! I'm 34 weeks now 😱 so I'll find out for sure soon enough! I also lost over a stone with morning sickness, had sweet cravings, high bump and the WORST heartburn.

Congratulations on your upcoming new baby🥳

There's no truth to either of those things. Im a midwife. Normal FH sounds like a galloping horse and is between 110-160 whether it's a girl or boy.

I had boy girl twins and my girl definitely had ga galloping horse heart beat and my boy was a train 😂

They generally had a very similar heart rate which was over 150 though
