Hello, I am 6 weeks pregnant today, I've had 2 passed pregnancies now 5&6. Both I've been induced due to gestation diabetes , been given insulin every-time earlier on the second pregnancy at 15w. I'm just wondering is it possible to get gestational diabetes in the first trimester? Passed few days I've felt exactly the same as I used too same symptoms n everything when I didn't have my insulin. Extremely tired as I'm falling asleep straight away after a 3k our nap. Ridiculously massive dry mouth. Going through 2l bottles of water etc. body feels shakey I just all around feel the same before I used to get my insulin I didn't know if it gets earlier the more pregnancies you have or. Has anyone got any in-site to this?

Are you a member of the Gestational Diabetes UK Facebook group? If not I would recommend joining. Very supportive group with links to GD-friendly recipes and snack ideas.
Loads of women in the group have been diagnosed with GD quite early on in subsequent pregnancies, so you could have it.

Yes, it is. I’d speak to your team asap and also ask for a testing kit. You should also be having a GTT much sooner than the standard 28 weeks.

Might be worth adapting diet to suit GD in the meantime.

Have you been having annual hba1c’s?

Yes I got it 27 weeks with my first 10 weeks in my second! Ask for a test early, at our trust they test you as soon as notify them your pregnant no, new guidelines say to do this I was told x
