DS Screening / Quad Test Confusion

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can offer any advice on the procedure for quad test?

I attended my first scan yesterday at estimated 13 + 3. Due to baby's position and imaging issues, they couldn't do the screening for down's syndrome or get a fully accurate measurement. Sonographer booked me in for another appointment in just over two weeks and said I would have the blood test screening for DS. Stupidly didn't think to ask questions at the time and I'm struggling to get through to anyone in maternity services on the phone.

Wondering if my blood test will take place at the same time as the next scan, as I wasn't advised to make a separate appointment for this?

Also I'm aware that the quad test is less accurate - what are the next steps if it comes back as at risk? I'm worried about finding a problem at a much later point than if I'd have had the screening yesterday.

Thanks!

Just wondering why they cant just offer you an NI PT blood test. Not your fault that baby wasnt playing ball today and I think 13.3 weeks is a bit later than it should have been i think

Anyone know why the test doesn't just cover all chromosome issues? Why only those 3 on the NHS/NIPT test?

This wasn't mentioned as an option, it was all pretty matter of fact (can't do the screening so just come back for a blood test - no mention that this wouldn't be as accurate). I've seen private tests in my area for £400 but I can't pay that.
