Tiny spec of blood on toilet paper

Hi everyone I am 5 weeks 4 days pregnant.

I have been run down with a chesty cough which last night became a lot worse with a limited amount of sleep… I feel awful.

When I went to the toilet at 1130pm last night there was a few tiny tiny specs of redish blood when I wiped. Just small dots that were almost naked to the eye but because I am studying my toilet paper I noticed.

I have woke up this morning and had nothing since no cramps pain or anything other than my cough.

I googled it and it said excessive coughing can cause this. Does anyone have any experience? I am really worried?

Speaking from experience, it could be something, or nothing. I had a miscarriage before my successful pregnancy with DS2. That started with the tiniest bit of spotting. Initially it was brown coloured and would have days between seeing it. It started to become more frequent and turned pink, then red. My tests also progressed in this time so was actually quietly hopeful that it'd work out - and most people said it's nothing to worry about which made the whole thing more shocking and harder to process. With DS2, I had quite a lot of bright red bleeding in those early weeks! Luckily, I didn't loose the baby and I'm actually holding my gorgeous 5 month old boy now. 🥰🥰

I hope it all works out for you OP, but no one can tell you one way or the other. Good luck!!

Hey Hun, I have been having this for over a week. Not everyday, nor everytime I wipe. I'm 14+5 been scanned and all is fine. Doesn't seem to be progressing either. I did realise I have thrush! Which has caused some small cuts on the outside of the vagina and that appears to be where the tiny specs of blood are coming from. Mine are fresh red as they are like little paper cuts. I have to dab not wipe while it heals x

@PrudeyTwoShoes thank you! Hopefully nothing but no sign of anymore blood will keep an eye on it.

@Ttcmumma thank you! Oh interesting! That’s what it was like red fresh tiny tiny specs maybe 1 or 2 no more sign today. Hopefully nothing but it’s a worry. Hopefully yours clears up quickly x
